presenting Whidbey, a new pattern for a new doll

My new Kidz 'n' Cats model, Lena (read previous post) is proving to be a delight to not only photograph with her life-like poses, created from her nine point articulation, but also a great inspiration for new beginnings in this brand new year, read on . . . .

At first my intention was to create a basic sweater and hat set for her, but that quickly turned into thoughts of a new pattern as well, so with a fresh clean slate for this new year, I turned to my love of classic sweaters and created a Gansey inspired sweater and hat ensemble. . . .
. . . my decision to once again put pen to paper and design a pattern for these dolls has also served as a much needed challenge and distraction, as often my thoughts would turn back the pages of time to happenings of last year . .  when I was attending my dear mum's funeral . . . at times I can hear them telling me to move on, to look back fondly . . . and so I am, and having so much fun too!

presenting . . "Whidbey”

My new plans include another Gansey inspired sweater design, this time created to fit my current Gotz girls and of course the comparable American Girl Dolls . . . currently on my needles,  . . more on that in a new post.

In the meantime, enjoy more pictures from Lena's photo shoot . .
