Fall for Aletta

Fall for Aletta
~ my new Kidz n Cats model I fell for ♥

The second Kidz’n’Cats Wunschpuppe/wish doll, meaning you get to choose her coloring from three choices.
For my Aletta I chose dunkelbraun/dark brown hair with braun/brown eyes
♥

So it seemed appropriate to cast on a little something special for her first autumn.

Worked my previous pattern released back in 2012 called Drift, where I made further improvements to form a classic crew neckline, along with reformatted written instructions that I hope you will enjoy ~ Deb

I look forward to sharing more of Aletta as I explore more colorways for her,
thanks for looking ~ Deb

Summer time

Summer time may have been beckoning me outdoors with warmer than normal temperatures, clear blue skies and sun soaked days, but not before casting on a little something for my Gotz girls . . . .

Meet Leroy ~ a Debonair Boy

Meet Leroy, my other Debonair Boy,
and now my new Kidz 'n' Cats boy model.

About Leroy's former life . . . .
I recently adopted a Kidz 'n' Cats Laura who was not feeling her role too well, happily she was ready for a change and with little encouragement she agreed to try on her new wig, and loved it. As tempted as I was to keep her female traits, a quick change to jeans and t'shirt, and we both knew instantly that she looked the part of a boy, with the help of my mother-in-law's hairstyling talents and some extra trimming I did myself, along with the addition of freckles, the transformation was complete, no long did I see her former self, but ALL boy!

Here he is happily exploring his new world while I snapped some photos of his new Gansey stitched sweater to showcase my Laurentia pattern for spring wear.

This completed Gansey Sweater is currently available for sale via eBay listing

I look forward to sharing more of Leroy, thanks for looking ~ Deb & Dolls

Winter Birds

Winter Birds . . .

Welcome 2014, continued . . .

A brand new year with the potential of fulfilling many hopes and dreams come true.

Finally have the time to update my blog after the new year, and what an inspiring new year it is turning out to be, yet I find myself tripping up with how fast January is slipping by, especially since I have sooooo many knits I want to complete before the next season is upon us.
So I have decided to continue with my initial theme for Winter 2014 through February, called 'Winter Birds'.
I love the winter season, as long as it's not too much of anything, my heart goes out to all those inflicted with the major ice storms, I love the dreamy snow covered scenes from the safety of a warm, lit home, and am very thankful for just that, although we do not have any snow, I have my pretend snow and American Girl snow-scene backdrop to help.

Please feel free to follow my mood board I created on Pinterest for inspirational colors that Mother nature does so well, that I can only hope to aspire to.

To kick start this theme, here is my new model, Abbie, an 18inch Madam Alexander girl from the 2007 Favorite Friends series.
She was a gift I gifted to myself for Christmas, after a long soak, her tangled locks were free once again, enhancing her beauty even more, after holding up various color options, I saw that the gold tones were so complimentary to her and she glowed.
Here's a very excited Abbie to show and tell, enjoy and thank you for reading ~ Deb, Debonair Designs

This little cutie caught my eye

Abbie is wearing a matching cape set that makes use of my new pattern 'Denali', recently released, read more about this winter special collection in my previous post, 'Denali' ~ A winter special collection eBook

Be sure to check out my Etsy store for this completed outfit and more I have made available

Not forgetting my two recent publications now available Seasonal Hand Knitted Designs knitting pattern books

presenting my latest knitting pattern, 'Ayanna'

Following my recent post in using the inspiring colors of Heartland yarn by Lion Brand, I am thrilled to present my latest pattern. . . .

Models wearing 'Ayanna' paired with my Newsboy Cap

Ayanna ~ a faux fair isle patterned sweater dress

Now Available

Designed to fit: American Girl Dolls & the comparable 18" Gotz Dolls like my models that share the same body type

Pattern Features: The faux fair isle is achieved with the use of slipped stitches, thereby avoiding the traditional stranded color work, written out with line-by-line instructions given, including back buttonhole placement. Set in 3/4 length sleeves and a ribbed stitched turtle neck worked from picked up stitches complete the look.

See my Etsy store for completed ensembles
Fall, the most inspirational time of the year for me, inspired also by my love of fair isle stitch patterns, ‘Ayanna’ is worked without the need for experience in stranded color work, as I made use of slipped stitches worked in pattern throughout to achieve the look of fair isle for this stylish sweater dress,  along with line-by-line written instructions.  ~ Debonair Designs
