Ayanna ~ a faux fair isle patterned sweater dress

Now Available

Designed to fit: American Girl Dolls & the comparable 18" Gotz Dolls like my models that share the same body type

Pattern Features: The faux fair isle is achieved with the use of slipped stitches, thereby avoiding the traditional stranded color work, written out with line-by-line instructions given, including back buttonhole placement. Set in 3/4 length sleeves and a ribbed stitched turtle neck worked from picked up stitches complete the look.

Fall, the most inspirational time of the year for me, inspired also by my love of fair isle stitch patterns, ‘Ayanna’ is worked without the need for experience in stranded color work, as I made use of slipped stitches worked in pattern throughout to achieve the look of fair isle for this stylish sweater dress,  along with line-by-line written instructions.  ~ Debonair Designs

presenting Bria

With current weather conditions giving us a warmer temperatures, with more green and no real snow to speak of, my thoughts quickly turned to spring, in particular Saint Patrick's Day, as I find the traditional sweaters so inspirational.

So with pen to paper and knitting needles ready I designed a unique two in one knitting pattern for the popular American Girl Dolls and the comparable 18" Gotz Dolls.

Presenting Bria, the pattern includes both a sweater and cardigan version, featuring a flattering shawl collar neckline along with textured stitches, all formatted into an easy to read pattern that offers line-by-line written instructions , so here are three of my Gotz girls to show and tell

Debonair's Savanna

To showcase my recent patterns released, I created ensembles for this year's summer collection with thoughts of long summer days in the forefront of my mind and visions of the great outdoors, and chose the adventures of an African safari ~ Debonair's Savanna.

For this savanna theme I made use of my patterns;  Kimana, a fitted bolero jacket and the coordinating cloche hat, Belle, which works perfectly as a safari hat, working these ensembles in safari type colors, and for a finishing touch to complete the look, worked up a new, fun accessory, a bohemian bag. More details of this bag pattern called BoHoh will be blogged about in my next post when the pattern is ready for release.

New from Debonair Designs 2012 summer collection, designed to fit American Girl Dolls and comparable 18" Gotz dolls like my models from the precious day collection; Jessica, Julia, Elisabeth & Emily

Jessica's ensemble is worked in a summer white with accent khaki tan throughout, creating a fresh, clean look, while Emily's ensemble makes use of the khaki tan with an accent of variegated brown for an adventurous look . . .

Julia's outfit, I made use of a rich gold with accents of brown, and for a final look, created a black and white ensemble worked in a Zebra pattern throughout that Elisabeth is showing

'Kimana', offers an ideal accessory for your doll's transitional wardrobe with the arrival of a new season. A perfect compliment that can easily be worn over your doll's favorite spring dress or simply paired with a pair of trendy jeans and tee skirt . . .

and 'Belle', a stylish hat accessory, read below . . .

For a complete look to this bolero jacket and headband pattern, I wanted to add this enchanting hat, inspired after the vintage cloche hats, and my love of seeing young girls in hats, prompted this stylish hat design, 'Belle', takes its namesake with a play on words for both the bell-shape of the hat, and its meaning: French for beautiful ~ once again a perfect finishing touch to my bolero jacket and headband pattern, 'Kimana', as the headband can be added around the base of the hat for added decoration, and taken off to be used on its own.
