April Showers brought May Flowers

For April I followed the 'April Showers' as depicted in volume one of Kalendar Kidz featuring 'Nuala' ~ a textured stitched sweater dress which I worked sleeveless and paired with some trendy gauntlet fingerless-mitts . .

Continuing on with the themes as laid out in the Kalendar Kidz vol. 1 comes May Flowers working with 'Daisy Chains', a sweet textured stitched sweater with collared Henley neckline . . the 'flowers' are represented by my slim Gotz lovelies, where I worked a Country Western theme by paired with my petticoat 'Three Steps' with added tulle ruffled lace

'Wind Catchers' ~ March

Where is Spring? . . . either way, I am sure it is soon to follow . . . continuing on with my year-long knit-along following each month's themes as set out in my Kidz 'n' Cats Kalendar Book Publications

This month's  theme is                  'Wind Catchers' featuring the textured stitched sweater called 'Laurentia' with the option to work incorporated fingerless-mitts, worked and modeled by my slim Gotz girls, Katie and Emma, where I paired my Lace Newsboy Cap for a finishing touch.

For April I will be following 'April Showers' as depicted in volume one of Kalendar Kidz featuring 'Nuala' ~ a textured stitched sweater dress which I plan on working sleeveless as I want to pair with some trendy gauntlet fingerless-mitts . . next post will be the reveal of that along with a newly customized Gotz model of mine . Below I worked one inspired by St. Patrick's Day

February's Steampunk Romantic

Continuing the themes as depicted in volume one of  Kalendar Kidz I worked the 'City Chic' patterns, featuring 'Bon-Bon' tunic dress paired with the vest, Je t'aime, in a theme I thought suitable for February's Valentine's Day, in a unique Steampunk style with a touch of romance, paired the dress with my petticoat pattern, 'Three Steps'  . . . my slim customized Gotz Happy Kidz model has a newer wig in the form on a long, wavy one with highlights, perfect for this occasion

To the left shows' Bon-Bon' dress paired with the petticoat, with the tunic vest on the dress form

Adornments in the form of a necklace I took apart along with 'Steampunk' charms for a finishing touch

Steampunk Adventures

Steampunk ~ Romantic

Inspired by the trendy steampunk styles, I took the adventure myself and paired together two of my patterns along with extra modifications to create a timeless ensemble I thoroughly enjoyed, here is my Gotz Happy Kidz Katie model to show and tell

Designed to fit:
Slim all vinyl Götz Classic/Happy Kidz Dolls & Götz Hannah type

Construction:
Worked my newest petticoat design (Three Steps) in a cream with added ribbon along the eyelet and gathered at one side with button adornment, paired with a chevron stitched dress pattern (Katie) worked in dusty pink with cream accents using a mohair blend for the sleeve cuffs, Worked the corset following the chevron pattern of 'Katie', which is totally removable with back button closure and added metal embellishments. The legend of Camelot

Camelot ~ Inspired by the legend of Camelot: a story over 1000 years old, conjures up the age of new beginnings, mysticism, chivalry and romance, formed the basis of this flattering ribbed pleated dress featuring generous long raglan sleeves in a style I thought befitting of the era

~ ‡~

Designed to fit:
Slim all vinyl Götz Classic/Happy Kidz Dolls & Götz Hannah type

Construction:

Worked flat; back and forth in rows. Pattern begins with sleeves with gradual shaping, worked from cuffs to armholes that are later joined to main body, (worked from bottom in one piece to armholes) for raglan shaping then worked together in one piece to neckline, includes full back button closure with buttonhole placement. Sleeves seamed at completion

Kalendar Kidz vol.2 Complete

Kalendar Kidz

Volume 2 ~ July through December
By Debonair Designs

Original Knitwear Designs for
18” Kidz ‘n’ Cats® girls and boys dolls, mini Kidz too!

Volume 2 - autograph copy is now available via my Etsy store
Hi, hard to believe the epic journey of my vision for this Kalendar Kidz pattern book  publication is finally complete. Beginning with the wonderful and generous support of pledges via my Kickstarter campaign at the beginning of the year, seeing the end to my computer/hard-drive woes, thus allowing me to plot the files for the first volume that went live on Amazon June 2015, to seeing the completion of my vision with this special edition, volume 2 of Kalendar Kidz, just now released.

Special Edition of Kalendar Kidz volume two includes designs for the mini Kidz too and completes the calendar year with six more months of original hand knitted designs for 18" slim bodied all vinyl dolls such as the Kidz 'n' Cats dolls by Sonia Hartmann

Opening with refreshing summer picks on through seeing the Kidz back to school with staple basic essentials along with the opportunity to explore colorful options as the palette changes and dips into fall featuring stylish textured stitched sweaters and cosy cables as the temperatures drop, ending with classic lines in the form of new winter coats just in time for the winter holidays.

19 patterns including accessories depicting designs suitable for July through December, offering both classic and stylish knitwear and unique textured stitches with an introduction to cable work all formatted to suit both the beginner and seasoned knitter to enjoy a whole calendar year of knitwear designs that began with volume one depicting designs suitable for January through to June with the continuation of the year depicted in this volume.

Over the years of working doll-sized designs has provided me the instant gratification I seen when exploring new stitch patterns, practicing and/or improving techniques. In my desire to showcase these designs i also welcome the opportunity to share in my second love of photography, as I strive to capture that childhood innocence with realistic poses all through the eyes of my dolls.

I invite you to take a moment to turn the pages before diving into your first project to peer into the ‘lives’ of my Kidz ‘n’ Cats dolls through an entire calendar year depicted in volumes one and two. ~ Deb
